FAQs

How is The Tonne different from traditional mat Pilates?

Traditional mat Pilates blends movement types and flows without a clear progression. The Tonne Method is different - it separates movement into three distinct phases—The Base, The Build, The Burn—for a deeper, more effective transformation. It’s not just about moving; it’s about moving with strategy. Instead of layering in weights, pulses, and holds at random, every session is designed to build intensity intentionally. As you move through the phases, your heart rate naturally rises, delivering a cardio challenge without chaotic movement. You still get that spicy Pilates burn—only now, you’ll feel the progression, not just a series of scattered movements. All while maintaining the breath, control, and alignment that define Pilates.

What equipment is used in The Tonne Method?

The Tonne Method is fully mat-based, using small props like light weights, resistance bands, ankle weights, and stability balls to enhance muscle engagement and create sculpting resistance. These tools are intentionally selected to support form, amplify results, and keep the method accessible and low-impact. Whether in-person or virtual, equipment used is minimal yet highly effective.

Who is The Tonne for?

The Tonne is designed for individuals who want an intentional, private Pilates experience. The Tonne Method's three-phase structure (The Base, The Build, The Burn) meets you where you are. Whether you're new to mat Pilates or highly experienced, each session is curated to meet your current level and evolve with you

Is the Tonne referral only?

Yes. The Tonne is a referral-only, invite-based experience to ensure a high level of personalization, privacy, and community. To join the community, a referral from a current member of The Tonne is required. If you don’t have a referral, you can join the waitlist to hear about limited private session openings. This approach keeps the experience exclusive, intimate, and aligned with your wellness goals. No crowds, no distractions—just deep, focused movement.

Where do sessions take place?

All in-person mat Pilates sessions are held at a private home studio in Beverly Hills, LA.

How long is each session?

The standard length of each session is 50 minutes, however, sessions can be adjusted based on your needs, goals, or availability to ensure the experience is fully personalized. Every minute is intentional, with seamless transitions that keep you engaged and aligned from start to finish.

What should I bring to a session?

Just yourself and water! If you're attending in-person sessions, all props are provided at the private Beverly Hills Pilates studio. For virtual sessions, we’ll recommend a few small, affordable props to keep on hand.

Do you offer virtual or on-demand options?

Yes. Private virtual sessions are available for clients outside of Los Angeles or those who travel frequently. And soon, Pilates at home is coming - on-demand sessions will be available for purchase — making The Tonne accessible to anyone seeking a structured, results-driven movement experience from anywhere in the world.
